Steve aims to establish a support network and events, which will become an enduring and self-supporting organisation – empowering boy's and men and their leaders.
Neil has created the foundations of “Steve” - boy's and men’s health network after noticing a deficit in specific support for men both professionally and through personal loss of close friends who have sadly taken their own lives. As a registered Mental Health Nurse with 24 years of working in healthcare and the NHS, he has created bespoke training and awareness of men’s health. He has a love of the outdoors with his dog and martial arts.
Following 40 years working in the Construction Industry, including many senior management roles, Nick has experienced first-hand the effect of men’s poor attitude to health has on both the individual and businesses. The ability to implement a wholesale change in attitude and achieve better health is what made Nick become involved with Steve. As well as running a Construction industry dispute resolution business, Nick is also a trustee of Furnitrust, a Taunton based charity providing furniture to low-income households.
A Somerset based not-for-profit community interest company - committed to making fundamental change to boy's and men’s health.
Interactive seminars with learning from experts by experience and leaders in their fields on specific subject areas for men
Annual collectives of lead stakeholders with responsibility to their staff to influence a ‘positive change for men’ culture within their workforce and beyond
Continual flow of most up to date information, research, press releases pertaining to anything men related posted out through socials
Steve has identified a deficit in charities, CICs or groups that focus on men’s health whilst there is a significant number of organisations which have the same or similar aims in promoting female and LGBTQIA+ issues. Steve wishes to promote the improvement in men’s health not only through its own influence but by engaging with other groups as it sees men’s partners and friends being an important part of delivering the message and influencing change. Steve would be happy to discuss with any other organisations how a collaborative approach may support all parties to achieve their aims.
A different approach to improving the health and well-being of boy's and men across the community with far reaching benefits for all
